Lori is a board certified practitioner of Oriental Medicine.  She is a native Houstonian who earned her Master's Degree in Oriental Medicine from The American College of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine in Houston, Texas, where she earned Valedictorian status of her graduating class.  During her acupuncture and herbal training, she interned at the college's clinic and at Sugar Land Methodist Hospital, providing treatments to over 400 patients in an out-patient setting.  Prior to her training in Traditional Chinese Medicine, she worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 8 years and in academia for 2 years, as she gained a Master's of Science in Biology, conducting research in the fields of biology, mycology and electron microscopy and publishing two abstracts in the Texas Journal of Microscopy.

 

With primary concentrations in women's health and internal medicine, Lori addresses health concerns, including painful and irregular periods, male and female infertility, prenatal and postpartum support, PCOS, menopause, and hormonal imbalances. She has extensive experience treating addiction, insomnia, mood disorders, autoimmune diseases, and pain management. In addition, Lori has received advanced training in cosmetic acupuncture by Dr. Martha Lucas, founder of Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture System, and she is furthering her post-graduate studies in advanced systems of pulse diagnosis.

 

Lori is the founder and president of Greater Houston Acupuncture Alliance and is a columnist for The Indigo Sun.  She has also been a featured guest lecturer on Traditional Chinese Medicine at The University of Texas School of Medicine in Houston.
